Group Therapy
Executive Functioning Groups for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Does your child with ASD struggle with being rigid and inflexible? Do they need things to be “just right” or need things to follow a specific plan? If plans do not go their way do they get upset?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, your child may be appropriate for an Executive Functioning Intervention that targets improved behavioral and cognitive flexibility.
I am offering a 16-week evidenced based group intervention. Children will participate in fun activities and games while learning how to increase frustration tolerance, improve flexible thinking, learn coping skills and problem solving techniques in a group format. Parents will also learn strategies to help them better understand and mange their child’s inflexible and rigid behavior.
I am currently accepting referrals for:
– 7-9 year old, verbal children with ASD
– 4-5 year old, verbal children with ASD
Parent Management Groups
Does your child have behavioral problems that disrupt their day-to-day lives? Do they have meltdowns, difficulties following commands, and may be actively defiant?
If so, this 12- session program may be beneficial for you. This group is for parents of children (ages preschool through elementary school) with challenging behaviors. The groups are designed to help parents identify the source of their child’s behavior and learn effective strategies to help improve behaviors.
